(Update 4-29-10: After using this razor for a few days, it really is a great product, it gives you a very close shave and has become my favorite razor out there. The only thing that stops it from being an A is because of the lack of a precision trimmer, if that feature doesn't interest you, then this razor is an A)
Pros (Razor): Very nice close shave Nice looking razor Each cartridge lasts longer than regular razor cartridges
Cons (Razor): Found no use for the "flip" trimmer No precision trimmer like other razors
Pros (Gel): Smells good
Cons (Gel): Does not give you a close enough shave when using (soap is better) Does not protect your skin (I cut myself while shaving with the Gel)
Update # 3 (4-30-10) - A few people sent me comments saying that the Hydro does have a "trimmer". I would not consider the Hydro's supposed trimmer a real precision trimmer like the one the Gillette Fusion has:
It might be hard to see in the picture above, but the Fusion has a single blade on the back of the razor as a trimmer. It's very precise and is very easy to use and get in tight spots.
The Hydro's supposed "trimmer" is revealed when you flip the lubricating strip down, (picture above). Because it's just the blades without the lubricating strip in the way, it's not very precise and hard to use in tight spots.
Hope this clears the confusion, the Hydro is a great razor. But the lack of the precise trimmer like the Fusion has (and which I've gotten used to a lot), drops the razor from an A to a B in my book.
Pros: Pretty decent BBQ tasting chip Chip is of good quality, nice and crisp
Cons: Does not taste like a Burger King flame broiled burger at all Name is deceiving Might as well called this product something else, the name does not describe at all.
